Test yourself in the Information Architect track
By doing the assignment below, you can test your knowledge of the Information Architect track. Make sure you have studied all the materials suggested in this track.
The assignment consists of 10 tasks. Some of the tasks refer to the data you have to create in some of the previous tasks. So we recommend that you do the tasks in the suggested order.
The actual assignment may include one or more tasks similar to those below. However, you should bear in mind that the actual tasks may be different from the topics covered here and be a bit more complex.
Task 1
- Create a demo website.
- Log into the CMS Console.
Task 2
- Add an image gallery to your website using the ADGallery add-on.
- Create a page called "Gallery".
- Use images of your choice.
- Save and publish the page.
Task 3
- Do the following steps (a-d) if the Extranet has not been installed and/or configured on the website:
- Install the Extranet add-on on your website.
- Create a login page and a registration page.
- Add the login status info to appear on multiple pages (via templates etc).
- Add the extranet to the website.
- Create an Extranet group called "Members".
- Create a Extranet user called "member1".
- Create, save and publish a page called "Protected".
- Limit access to the page so that only the "Members" have access to it.
Task 4
- Install a social media add-on of your choice, for example, AddThis.
- Create a page called "A Cool Page".
- Add it on a page.
- Save and publish the page.
Task 5
- Create two user groups "Editors" and "Super Editors".
- Grant permissions to "Editors" to edit pages globally.
- Create a user “user1” and assign the user to “Editors”.
- Grant permissions to “Super Editors” to approve pages globally.
- Create a user “user2” and assign the user to “Super Editors”.
Task 6
- In the “Content” perspective, allow “Editors” to create pages locally.
- In the “Content” perspective, allow “Super Editors” to publish pages locally.
Task 7
- In the “Content” perspective, allow “user1” to delete pages.
- In the “Content” perspective, allow “user2” to edit pages.
Task 8
- In the "Layout" perspective, create a new Razor-based template called "My Template" with default content.
- In the "Content" perspective create a page called "My Page 1".
- Select the "My Template" as a template of this page.
- Save and publish the page.
Task 9
- Create a page called "My Page 2".
- Add some content to the page using the Composite.Constant.XhtmlDocument function.
- Save and publish the page.
Task 10
- Install a CMS Console GUI Localization add-on of your choice (for example, French).
- Switch the CMS Console GUI to that language.
