Publish the Website from WebMatrix

Once the website is ready, it is time to publish it and make it available online.

In this guide, we will publish the website using WebMatrix's publishing feature.

For this, you need web hosting that allows you to run ASP.NET 4.0 applications in Full Trust mode.

Please note that you cannot use any web hosting option. C1 CMS runs on Microsoft ASP.NET 4 which means you cannot simply upload it to your PHP-based server. If you are in doubt, use one of the providers suggested via WebMatrix’s publishing feature.

You will need publishing information from your web hosting provider to configure WebMatrix. Some providers are WebMatrix-aware and can provide you with a Publishing Settings file (.PublishingSetting), which you should import to have WebMatrix configured automatically.

WebMatrix offers FTP and Web Deploy as protocols for publishing.
